A pregnant Nicole Richie checked into a Los Angeles jail today to serve a 96-hour sentence for drink-driving, and was released after 70 minutes. Entertainment Tonight reported that Richie was booked at the county jail for women in Lynwood shortly after 3pm (8am AEST) and was released after serving an hour and ten minutes "If she is processed into the Los Angeles County jail system, Ms Richie will be handled like any other inmate with a similar sentence of 96 hours," the L.A. County Sheriff's Department said in a press release. "At this time, the criteria for a female arrestee sentenced to 30-days or less for a non-violent offense is as follows: the arrestee is booked, screened and usually released within 12 hours," the press release said.
